Acceleration of Construction Companies under Post-Earthquake Recovery Program
In effort to support the PURNIMA Post Earthquake Recovery Program in Nepal funded by UKAID, One to Watch will be conducting a one-year acceleration program for 20 construction companies in Dhading and Nuwakot.
Lack of innovation has been identified as a major reason for the underperformance of SMEs in Nepal’s construction industry. Most SMEs use basic technologies and run their business in a traditional manner that negatively affects their efficiency and competitiveness and limits their growth.
One to Watch has partnered with PURNIMA to provide incubation and acceleration services to help these SMEs adopt innovation that leads to the sustainable growth of their business and the creation of new jobs.
Following a rigorous screening process where more than 50 companies were screened in both geographies, a final selection of 20 has been made. These 20 companies are currently undergoing a six-week program to work on their business fundamentals, tax and financial compliances, marketing strategies, business expansion and preparing a robust business plan.
Following the program, One to Watch will provide back-end support for the companies to prototype and further scale their innovations.
