Strengthening MentorLab for Its Next Phase of Growth

Strengthening MentorLab for Its Next Phase of Growth

As Nepal's digital education sector continues to expand, education technology companies must continuously strengthen their technology, operations, governance, and commercial capabilities to remain competitive. Through the NIIC 2 Business Development Services (BDS), MentorLab has received targeted technical assistance across several key areas to help build a stronger foundation for sustainable growth.

MentorLab, which has recently rebranded its education platform to goAcad, connects learners with a wide range of educational opportunities, including school education, coding, professional certifications, higher education, study abroad programmes, and corporate learning solutions. As the business expanded, it identified several strategic priorities that would enable it to improve customer experience, strengthen internal systems, and scale more effectively.

NIIC 2 worked closely with MentorLab to address these priorities through a comprehensive package of Business Development Services.

A key component of the support was the company's rebranding from MentorLab to goAcad, including the development of a modern website that better reflects its evolving business model and provides an improved digital experience for learners. The support also included the integration of AI-powered solutions to enhance operational efficiency, improve customer engagement, and strengthen the company's digital capabilities.

Recognising that commercial growth depends on strong sales execution, NIIC 2 also delivered sales training and practical workshops for MentorLab's sales team. These sessions focused on improving lead generation, customer engagement, sales conversion, and the adoption of more structured sales processes. To complement these efforts, new sales management tools and reporting practices were introduced to help the team better track opportunities and make data-driven decisions.

Beyond technology and sales, NIIC 2 supported MentorLab in strengthening its legal and organisational foundations. This included a comprehensive legal review to ensure the company's operations align with Nepal's recently enacted e-commerce and commercial legislation. Legal advisory services were also provided on the development of HR bylaws, employment contracting practices, and the integration of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) principles into the company's human resource policies.

Together, these interventions have strengthened MentorLab across multiple dimensions—technology, branding, sales, governance, legal compliance, and organisational development. By addressing both strategic and operational priorities, the company is now better positioned to expand its reach, improve service delivery, and support more learners across Nepal.

At NIIC 2, we believe that business growth requires more than access to finance. Our Business Development Services are designed to equip enterprises with the technical expertise, systems, and capabilities needed to scale sustainably and create lasting impact. MentorLab's journey demonstrates how tailored technical assistance can help innovative businesses build resilience, improve competitiveness, and prepare for long-term growth.
