The Soaltee Hotel in Kathmandu goes green with Gham Power

Gham Power recently installed a 506 kW solar system on the rooftops and parking area of The Soaltee Hotel Kathmandu, showcasing a strong dedication to eco-friendly hospitality. This joint effort is projected to eliminate the need for 196 kiloliters of diesel and reduce carbon emissions by an impressive 995 metric tons over the next 15 years. Beyond significant cost savings on electricity bills, this initiative marks a big step forward in energy efficiency and a noteworthy reduction in the hotel's carbon footprint.

On January 25, 2024, The Soaltee and Gham Power co-hosted an event titled "Making Greener Cities Together." The event aimed to encourage the adoption of solar power in commercial sectors, emphasizing the importance of enhancing the reliability of the national power grid, reducing carbon footprints, and replacing environmentally harmful alternatives like diesel with affordable and stable energy solutions. Attendees included representatives from government bodies, international and national finance institutions, renewable energy organizations, and both public and private companies.

The successful completion of The Soaltee Kathmandu's solar project not only marks a milestone but also signals a promising future for sustainable energy in Nepal.
