U.S. – Nepal Startup Weekend Challenge Kick-Off: Virtual Pre-Sessions

We’ve officially kicked off the U.S. - Nepal Startup Weekend Challenge with a series of virtual pre-sessions designed to help participating teams strengthen their startup fundamentals ahead of the main event.

The sessions brought together experienced practitioners and covered key topics essential for early-stage ventures helping teams sharpen their value propositions, validate customer needs, understand business models, and translate ideas into viable, investment-ready ventures.

Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, teams stress-tested assumptions, refined their ideas, and built a clearer path from problem to solution.

In addition, teams were also oriented on the legal and regulatory framework in Nepal, including legal structuring, regulatory compliance, taxation and intellectual property protection while also building a stronger understanding of financial statements, unit economics, projections and runway planning to support sustainable growth.

By the end of the pre-sessions, teams walked away with more than just concepts. They had clearer business models, stronger customer insights, a grounded understanding of Nepal’s startup regulations, and financial projections that could support sustainable growth.

With strong foundations now in place, the U.S.–Nepal Startup Weekend Challenge is set for an exciting main event where teams will pressure-test assumptions, sharpen their models, and accelerate their startups toward the next phase of growth.
